Daily cleaning
The easiest way to clean stainless steel surfaces for fingerprints and stains on a daily basis is to use two cloths, one wet and one dry. Dampen one cloth with detergent and water and wipe in a circular motion with the damp cloth to remove fingerprints, stains and grease. Then switch to a soft, dry cloth and wipe in the direction of the grain of the stainless steel until the surface is completely dry. Wiping directly dry will avoid traces of cleaning agents and water stains being left on the stainless steel surface.

What not to clean with
Whether it is stainless steel cookware or stainless steel appliances, avoid using abrasive cleaning materials. Stainless steel may appear to have a very smooth surface, but the actual surface is minutely grained and has a frosting-like texture. However, using cleaning materials with abrasive types may scratch the surface of stainless steel and leave scratches.
Things that should not be used when cleaning stainless steel surfaces include
Rough abrasive cleaners, all cleaning materials harder than baking soda will scratch stainless steel surfaces.

Homemade stainless steel cleaner

Empty basin, microfiber cloth, lint-free cloth, spray bottle, detergent, baking soda, 75% alcohol, mineral oil
▌Cleaning steps
Remove water stains and stains: use a microfiber cloth, dip it in a small amount of water and baking soda and gently wipe, water stains, limescale and stain buildup where the cleaning effect is not obvious, apply more baking soda as needed until the stain disappears and rinse well with water.
Clean surfaces: Clean surfaces with detergent and warm water, then wipe with a microfibre cloth dampened with a small amount of detergent in repeated circular motions to remove residues and oil stains.
Restore metallic shine: Mix mineral oil and alcohol 1:1 in a spray bottle. Shake well and spray onto the stainless steel surface. Then wipe with a lint-free cloth in the direction of the stainless steel grain. This will help to restore the metallic shine and add a protective layer.
To maintain the cleaning effect over time, it is recommended that stainless steel surfaces are cleaned daily at least 3 times a week to keep the surface free from grease build-up. Maintain the shine of the stainless steel surface by cleaning every fortnight with a homemade stainless steel cleaner.
